Enough

I am sick and tired of being both sick
and tired of these empty promises that have given my stomach reason to reject any food that tries to make its way in.

I vomited lie after lie and became dehydrated from this thirst for you.

You could not quench it, nor were you willing to give me more than sips of your love.

I am sick and tired of being the one who got away when I had every intention of staying.

I have become sick of this word “love,” but never too tired to give up on my quest for it.
