Ahhh, the holidays, Easter, Children’s Day, and of course, Golden

Week! The holidays are great to spend time with family and friends, catch up on Netflix, sleep, and maybe do a little light reading, very light. What am I doing? My taxes!

Many of you know that I don’t live in the U.S. anymore. I’ve been living abroad for a very long time, either studying, working, or just having a good time in a foreign country. If I’m living abroad at the moment, why must I do my U.S. taxes, you may wonder?

The U.S. is one of a few countries in the world that requires its citizens abroad to report their earnings to the government, even if they don’t owe anything. So, every spring, I wait until the very last minute to do one of the things I dread the most, my taxes.
