I got past the expected reaction to the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine that I received on Friday. My body felt beaten down for about 20 hours starting on Saturday morning. I had body aches and no energy, in the evening I felt chills. That killed my Saturday and I spent the day mostly sitting on the couch or lying down on my bed. However, I woke up on Sunday and felt normal again. 👍

I did not want to undertake a strenuous hike, so I took my daughter to an open space park about 30 minutes away and we hiked a short loop there. The forest in this area was burned in a huge wildfire 21 years ago and then another smaller fire hit again six years later. On some of the phots you can see many dead trees, a lot of them blown down since. Not everything has burned, luckily and there are still mature trees in parts of the burn area.

You climb a hill and get nice views of the mountain peaks from there. Delicate wildflowers dot the landscape. The trail then descends back to a small lake that is used for fishing. We had a pleasant picnic lunch at the lake to finish the outing.

I am off starting on Friday! Monday is a holiday and then I have the rest of the week off as well as the following Monday. I have not planned a long trip, but I will be going on the road for a couple of nights here and there. I am looking forward to seeing different sceneries, although I had been to all these places before, just not recently. A few more days to go...
