I captured the last blooms

of the season. It has been unseasonably warm after that unexpected snowstorm at the beginning of September. Unfortunately, it has also been very dry. Fire danger is rated as extremely dry and most of the state is experiencing drought or even severe drought conditions. While this is good for being outdoors, it is tough on nature. The grasses have stopped growing very early this year and everything is brown.

My cat likes to relax in the sun. I let him outside for a bit almost every day, but I have to be out there with him. It's not that he would run away, but there are wild animals out here and a house cat is no match. Foxes, coyotes, mountain lions even.
