Just before I was going to cut the steaks I realized that my

knives were not sharp enough. who wants to cut good meat with dull knives?

During covid I taught myself how to properly sharpen knives. I watched several videos and got the right tools. It actually takes a long time to do it, almost 15-20 minutes per knife in total to get a good edge on it.

And I'm proud I can do it.

@Emma it is a knife sharpening block. The process is to start with a rough block (400) then move to a finer one (1000) and finish with a very fine one (4000).

@Maria yeah, the key is the little plastic thing that guides the blade edge, and then the stroke. Over and over again lol. I'm getting to the point now where I can sense the "burr" it is called and know when it is almost sharp
