19じになってようやくすずしくなりました。- It has finally cooled off at 7pm.

is another episode in my road trip report.

We finally got to the visitor center in the park (Colorado National Monument), but of course it was already closed for the day. It was after 5pm after all. There is a great trail that leads from the center to an exposed cliff. Actually, the whole trail is kind of on a cliff and many picturesque spots can be encountered along the way. Maybe it's not for those with a fear of heights....

The evening sun really makes the scenery come alive in warm colors. A little further down the road you can spot where it winds back down to the valley (#5).

We finished the day at a Mexican restaurant and I kicked off my birthday celebration with a margarita. I cannot remember the last time I had ordered one... The celebration then continued at the hotel with a mini-cake my daughter had baked for me. The lettering got a little messed up during transport. 😂

Alright, the following day was a drive to another park. I will pick it up there in the next episode...
