そとはゆきがふっているので、ほうこくのじかんがあります。- It is snowing outside, so I have

time for my report.

I have had too much new material lately and could not find enough time to continue with my summer trip report. It is about time I finish this series! So here is the next chapter:

Day 6:

This was the day to move on from Grand Teton to Yellowstone. There were two main activities that day. First, a stop at the West Thumb geyser basin, which sits right next to Yellowstone lake. The boardwalks there are always fun to walk and you can get pretty close to some of the pools and springs. It's one of my favorite spots in the park.

The second stop was a 7.7 km hike to Lone Star Geyser. That is one of the few places I had not visited prior and so I was eager to see it. It is an easy and pleasant flat trail following a magnificent river (Firehole River) and the turnaround point is the geyser which erupts every three hours. Our timing was not bad and we only had to wait about 25 minutes for the eruption. I even made a short video which I will link in a comment below. There were only a handful of people there, a huge contrast to some of the more popular spots in the park.

This was also the start of our real camping adventure, as I had reserved a campsite for three nights in the park. From now on no more cabins...

@Megumi 𓅫 yes, if stop by the visitor center first they can tell you when to expect the next eruption, but we just asked some people who were returning to their when we got there and so we had an idea when to expect it 😃
