"I guess it was just a dream." The dazzling sun was shining out of the window. It's so bright... "Damn, it shouldn't be so bright!" I think I slept through the whole thing. Getting out of bed and managing not to fall back down, I went to the kitchen. The clock was blinking 12:00. "Uh huh..." I was clearly not going to make it to school on time. I closed the blinds - the sun was too bright. "That's weird. I'm neither hot nor cold." With that thought, I opened the refrigerator. As usual - nothing interesting. I pulled out some sausage and a couple of vegetables. I made the most ordinary sandwiches and started eating. "Food in the morning is always so bland." I leisurely finished my meal and decided that I should charge the phone that was the reason for my unscheduled day off. Strangely, the phone is charged. The Do Not Disturb mode didn't seem to be off. There were no notifications on it, but that didn't faze me. - "Forgotten." The thought of my disappearance not being noticed even made me smile. Apparently, this was a sign - and I could finally have some fun at the comp. I sat down in my chair and started typing my password. The letters floated across the keyboard. - "I guess I've had enough." The combination of the effects of sitting at the computer all the time and the fact that I had just woken up had turned the keyboard into a mess of keys. I decided to enter the password blindly - and, oh wonder, it worked. I stared at my desktop for a few minutes. Nothing caught my eye. I leaned back in my chair and just stared at the ceiling. The sound of the notification echoed around the room. "The phone was on Do Not Disturb..." The thought struck me dead. I knew: notifications were only allowed from one person. I frantically reached for my phone. My hand went straight through a streak of bright sunlight. "Strange... The sun isn't warming at all." Из окна светило ослепительное солнце. Оно такое яркое… «Чёрт, оно не должно быть таким ярким!» Кажется, я проспал всё, что только можно было. Встав с кровати и сумев не упасть обратно, я пошёл на кухню. Часы моргали 12:00. «Мда…» В школу я явно не успевал. Я закрыл жалюзи — уж больно ярким было солнце. «Странно. Мне не жарко и не холодно». С этой мыслью я открыл холодильник. Как обычно — ничего интересного. Я достал колбасы и пару овощей. Сделал самые обычные бутерброды и начал есть. «Еда утром всегда такая пресная». Я неспешно доел и решил, что стоит поставить на зарядку телефон, ставший причиной моего внепланового выходного. *** Странно, но телефон заряжен. Похоже, режим «Не беспокоить» не выключился. На нём не было уведомлений, но меня это не смутило. — «Забыли». Мысль о том, что мою пропажу не заметили, даже заставила меня улыбнуться. Видимо, это знак — и я наконец могу развлечься за компом. Я сел в кресло и начал вводить пароль. Буквы плыли на клавиатуре. — «Видимо, доигрался». Сочетание последствий постоянного сидения за компом и того, что я только проснулся, превратили клавиатуру в месиво клавиш. Я решил ввести пароль вслепую — и, о чудо, получилось. Я несколько минут смотрел на свой рабочий стол. Ничего не притягивало моего внимания. Я откинулся в кресло и просто смотрел в потолок. *** Звук уведомления разразился эхом по комнате. «Телефон же был в режиме “Не беспокоить”…» Мысль сразила меня наповал. Я знал: уведомления были разрешены только от одного человека. Я судорожно потянулся за телефоном. Моя рука прошла прямо по полосе яркого света солнца. «Странно… Солнце нисколько не греет».
