한국어는 왜 공부해요?
why are you studying korean?

저는 한국에서 가르

치고 살고 싶어요
I want to teach and live in Korea

can somebody explain why in the first sentence, '는' is needed after '한국어' ?

    생략해도 되지만 쓰는게 더 자연스러워요.

    If you just wanna say why ur studying Korean, you can add -를 which is the Object suffix. And it can be omitted in casual converstion. But if you use -은/는 instead, you can put additional meanings like comparison, emphasis, etc. Ex) (There are various languages but) Why are you studying Korean? Ex) (You can speak English then) Why are you ~~~? It works same when it's used instead Subject suffixes -이/가. ☝️ You can mean it as same as -를. It makes you can imply extra ideas if you want.
