Quote by Edgar Allan Poe on his addictions.

I have absolutely

no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom.

After going through another book review of yours on Edgar Allan Poe and this quote, I want to read his poems. Any pointers on which poem to start first? btw I have to ask this of you, "How do you find the accurate picture to go along with your posts! As much as I love hearing you recite, I have to admit, the effort you put in finding the right picture is commendable. It only adds to the charm and enhances the poem.❤️

@Ayerhs I'd recommend starting with The Raven. It's the most famous for a reason. Other great one's are: Annabel Lee, The Haunted Palace, Ulalume, El Dorado, Tamerlane (a challenging but great one), The Bells, The City in the Sea and Dreamland. Some are difficult but still great. Also check out his prose poems The Power of Words and Silence - A Fable. You can get this whole book for free on Gutenberg.

@Ayerhs I just Google "X + painting" where X is the topic and scroll until I find one I like.
