Sometimes I get a bit too excited when having a fun conversation

with people and I temporarily forget that they're not a native English speaker. This can result in me using abbreviations, which aren't always understood. I've made a list of common abbreviations that I use when talking on a regular basis that you might find handy when talking to other native speakers as well. You can also use them to show off your ability, if you know how to use them correctly! 😉✨📚🤓

    @Pengyuan It stands for "et cetera" which is of Latin origin meaning "and so on" or "and similar things". It's used at the end of a list to indicate that the list goes on, but you don't wish to name every single thing in that list. E.g. I went to Kyoto in March and ate sushi, ramen, onigiri etc. "Etc" in this sentence indicates that there are more things that I ate, but it's a lot to list them all. It means that you get the gist of what I am trying to say - a number of Japanese foods in this case
