@dmitry living in a city with nothing would certainly make it difficult to be at peace when people around you have better lives, on the outside appearance. It does require a certain state of mind to achieve a peaceful mind...you need to really know yourself and your own mind.

@Aidan to gain such an inner peace you need to be a hermit, live in certain place, with certain people, like you. You can't gain it in big city, having you everyday's issues etc. But I agree. In reality we all need so little. But we recognize it only in hard times. You know, war, illness, death etc.

@dmitry yes, I think it could be difficult but I guess when you see Tibetan monks who have nothing and seek subsistence from people, you imagine they must have some level of inner peace despite this. I do agree though, poverty may certainly make inner peace a bigger challenge.

Нууууу... В принципе согласен. But, I would mention that, IMHO, it is hard to get inner peace if you are very poor. Because you would always in searching what to eat, where to sleep etc.

@يمان الحريري not really....money is great if you have it but not a measure of success. A lot of miserable rich people who hate what they do or have many deeper problems in life. Just my thoughts.
