2019 Book Reviews entirely honest justify treating people badly? Does it justify how hurt they will feel when you tell them the truth? Is honesty something to always be valued? Is there something admirable about going through life in a very passive and unattached way? These are the questions that came to me after I finished this book.
#3 The Stranger by Albert Camus.
I found honesty to be the the most admirable quality of this books protagonist though I didn't find much else that drew me to him. Here we have an indifferent character. A man that doesn't shed a tear at his own mothers funeral and we have a plot that didn't engage me as much I expected to. Neither did I find the characters all that interesting. Not a bad book but not one of my favourites. Regardless, it is one that will leave you thinking and given it's status as a classic of literature, it is worth a read.
