So my students ask me, “I want to do shadowing (listening & repeating

), how much at what level is appropriate?” ⭕❓‼️

A simple rule of thumb....all shadowing should be kept in 5-10 mins max. After all, you will get bored.

♦️Beginners: Try to shadow very simple sentences, like: My name is...I’m from...My hobbies are....etc. Don’t worry about the accent at this point.

♦️Intermediates: Compound statements and pronunciation should be the priority. You need to focus on quality, not quantity.

♦️Advanced: Stick to idioms, slangs, and complex sentences and pronunciation. Your main priority every day should be to sound natural. Try going for 15 mins. You are looking for perfection‼️
