@Claire J. @Phoenix大叔 You can say this phrase any time. Your boss ask you to do a job and he's going to give you a bonus, but he's never done that before, so you can say, okay, but what's the catch? He might say, this job can make the company more money than we've ever made before.

@大伟作家 Actually, when I saw the card I think I learned how to say 填写表格!Usually I learn something new I like to look up dictionary to find more! Just now, I found that in the Oxford dictionary, fill out means ‘to become larger, rounder or fatter’ and fill in means’ to complete a form, etc. by writing information on it ‘ , so it’s just confusing

@Lynn Why do you think it should be "fill in a form" instead of "fill out a form"?

@大伟作家 But now I have figured it out, there is also an item down below, when it refers to’ complete a form’ fill in = fill out

@大伟作家 Actually, I researched by myself! I explained just now I didn’t notice that’ fill in =fill out’ when refers to ‘ complete a form’. I’m not the person who always want to ask others but don’t do anything themselves!’ If I do, I just remember’ fill out a form’ why do I need to find more information? And, besides, if you don’t want answer my question, just ignore it! You don’t need to! I think today’s experience must help me learn ‘fill in=fill out’ well! Besides, I don’t think is there anything wrong when I ask why use this one not that one! Doubting makes things more clear not stop people doubting!

@Lynn Why involve me in your doubt? I never ask people to do for me what I can do for myself. I spend hours researching Chinese translations trying to help Chinese people understand the material that I share, but there are some questions that I don't answer. I don't answer questions when people can just go look up the answers on the internet.

@大伟作家 You are so easily offended and not polite at all just because I asked a question? 😂 I think you have got used to too much’ thanks in HelloTalk here and can’t accept any doubts! Besides I also asked other foreign people whether it’s not appropriate to do so! They also think it’s normal! And this is a language learning platform, I don’t know why I can’t ask a question lol😂 You have changed all my minds about you! I really don’t need to meet a friend or teacher like you😄 If I we’re you, I will not waste so much time arguing with people instead of ignoring it or just telling the person’ fill in = fill out’ 😂lol!

@Lynn You can have all the doubts that you want. Doubt is healthy, but when you want to make your doubts my responsibility to answer, I can say no. I spend more time on this app helping people than you spend studying English, but I decide who and how I will help.

@Lynn Other foreigners don't get to decide what I say is okay and what's normal. The reason why those foreigners think this way is okay is because they can't read Chinese so they ask the same type of questions, but when I decided to learn Chinese, I said I would never ask these type of questions, because the answers were already on the internet. So I found a Chinese dictionary and a list of the most common Chinese words and their meaning so I wouldn't have to ask people questions that I know how to research. Chinese people can read English so in my opinion, they shouldn't waist time asking foreigners these questions because the foreigner can't speak Chinese and the Chinese person can't understand English.

@大伟作家 Yep! I can’t agree with you more about this! Anyone can doubt, if you don’t want to answer then just ignore it rather than stop or blame people doubting! Even say’你的意思是为什么你的英语和我的英语不一样吗?’ It’s very provocative! No one is always right! And also you set an example to people here: never ask a American, if you can find the answer on the internet! First, I didn’t ask you the moment I saw the question, I looked up the dictionary! Second I don’t think people shouldn’t ask question if they can find them on internet. If so, then I shouldn’t answer any questions from foreigners! And this app is also unnecessary!

@Lynn You can do whatever you want, but just understand that I don't use this app to teach people English. I help correct their writing and share information. I don't answer their private messages because I'm not here to be anyone's teacher. So if people have questions and they post it publicly and if I want to answer it, then I will. If they send me a private message asking me to do these things, then I will ignore them.

@大伟作家 Actually I don’t think you’re angry with me for asking a question which can be found on the internet! You are angry with me because your authority as an English teacher are challenged! Evidence ’You want to know, why is your English and my English different? 你的意思是为什么你的英语和我的英语不一样吗?’ So you hold this view: a native speaker never make mistakes! I shouldn’t have known more than you, you are the most professional! Besides you always stressing that what you will do when learning, so can you stand for all the people? Even say that ‘ other foreigner ask questions which can be found on the internet because they can’t read Chinese……’ So you foreigners always have many ‘ good reasons’ to ask any types of questions, and I can’t ask even one, lol😂’ That’s really a good point’ !

@Lynn I said that because some where you learned fill in a form and you want me to answer why I wrote fill out a form, but when you looked on the internet, you saw both were right. So your observation was a good guess, but it was not the reason. Many Chinese people will find a correct English sentence and change it to a wrong sentence, and then come here and ask which is right? Why? I know this because when I look on Baidu, I always find their right sentence from some English book. This is the most common question on this app

@Lynn I never say native speakers don't make mistakes. It's quite easy to make mistakes in English which is why we use software to find the mistakes.
