 Bottle up    
   
 Meaning: to hold one's feelings
 within. Not to express one's emotions.  Examples; - My mum always warns us not bottle our sadness up, because it will grow worse and worse.
- Let's resolve our last night's argument. You shouldn't bottle it up.
- Poor Mary got a serious disease and has to stay at hospital for months. She's paying the price of bottling up her feelings for years.
- If things go wrong like this, take action immediately or ask for help. You don't have to hold in your resentment or frustration.
- Depression is the result of holding in pain and rage. To avoid that, try to cope with frustration before it reaches its boiling point.
