I stood in front of a golden gate, peeking the lights shining through the crack, eyes wide open, filled with amazement and wonder.
I wonder. I dream. I imagine. I fantasize.
I heard your voice, your tone, your intonation. And every tiny detail of your pronunciation.
What an amazing sound it is! Like a chime ringing from heaven.
It’s so new, so different, so exotic.
I saw an angel, in a sheer dress of mystery, lead me into the gate of wonder and magic.
I close my eyes. I listen.
With my ears, with my heart.
I feel the tenderness in your voice.
The warmth, the calmness, the softness.
Like a mother rocking a baby on a cradle,
Like the moonlight shining through the curtains.
Flowers bloom, butterflies dance, birds sing, wind blows.
My heart was full of excitement, joy and peace.
I curl up in my bed. I listen.
Hugging my pillow tight in my arms.
Every tiny phoneme is so clearly exposed,
The consonants, the vowels,
the rhythm, the stress, the intonation,
the pitch, the tone, the pauses,
and, the timber of your voice.
So familiar, so entrenched. Like I could recognize you straight away among a crowd of others.
