英語にはとても便利な言葉、to wearがあります。着ても、はいても、掛けても、全部はto wearになります。

でも

、日本語は?

着る(きる) to wear clothing on the upper body
はく to wear clothing on the lower body (such as pants, underwear, or shoes)
被る(かぶる) to wear a hat
巻く(まく) to wear something wrapped (such as a scarf or a turban)
掛ける(かける) to wear an accessory (such as a necklace or glasses)
締める(しめる) to wear something that has to be fastened (such as a belt or a necktie
する to wear makeup or a facial expression

@Inami Dai yes. We sometimes have the same problem in English! Really? Thank you!! I’m glad it was understandable!

@Jessica > But maybe 3 or 4 verbs is enough haha. Hahaha!!! I agree. But for me, there is the same problem in English also. >ズボンを着ないでください。はきます。 No problem. I could understand what you were trying to say. It’s correct.

@s1pZktn9 ”please don’t wear pants (on your torso). Please wear them (on your legs).” を言いたかったんですが
  • Jessica

@Inami Dai I think it can be better sometimes. But maybe 3 or 4 verbs is enough haha.

    @yuka 頭が良い、賢い、賢明な、利口な 日本語もたくさんあるでしょう(^^)

    面白いですね!

    ズボンを着ないでください。

    ズボンは着るものではありません。

    はきます。

    履くものです。

I feel it’s more useful that there is a lot of variation of the verb. Because we can quickly understand what did you wear without an object word.

wearで全て言えるのは便利ですね! でも、賢い(かしこい)は日本語だと1つですが英語はたくさんあるので難しいです。 wise, intelligent, smart, cleverとか💦
