days ago I went to see one of the larger creeks here. The road winds through the canyon following the creek and there are a number of pull-off areas where you can stop and enjoy the views and some offering access to the water. It was a hot day and the cold water felt great wading in it. The upper sections of this creek are pretty popular with white water rafters.

Then, in the afternoon I headed to the forest to look for mushrooms. I had high hopes as I had seen mushrooms on previous hikes. I guess it was not the right time yet for my favorite spots because there were not very many, but we did not leave empty-handed. The one in the photo was the biggest one. Don't ask me about the names of these mushrooms, as I have no idea, but I do know they are edible. Many Czechs are competent mushroom hunters 😀.

I dried the bulk of them sliced up for later consumption and the smaller ones were cut up for dinner that day. I hope to find more in the coming weeks. The rains this year are giving me hope after last year's positively dismal season.
