They cannot be purchase in local supermarkets or wet markets, but can be bought online and sent to overseas destinations. We have missed the 2020 season, and had to wait for one year before we would place order again. So a good Japanese friend of ours who we have known for over 20 years have also received one box from us. I have just tasted mine. They are so delicious.
