[Language AI Apps](https://www.hellotalk.com/ja/aiapps.md): AI駆動の言語学習アプリを発見する - [All Features](https://www.hellotalk.com/ja/features.md): すべての学習機能とツールを探索する - [Download](https://www.hellotalk.com/ja/download.md): iOSとAndroidでHelloTalkを入手 日本では12月の一大イベントといえばクリスマスですが、ユダヤ教徒は同じくらいの時期にハヌカ（Hanukkah）をお祝いします。毎年ユダヤ暦の9月25日から8日間がハヌカとされ、今年は12月2日から10日がその期間にあたります。どのようなイベントなのか、見てみましょう。 ### ハヌカとは？ 紀元前2世紀、イスラエルの地はシリアのギリシア人の支配下にありました。彼らは、ヘレニズム文明を広めるのをその占領政策としていて、ユダヤ教の聖所であるエルサレム神殿を汚し、人々に異教の慣習を押し付けたり、ユダヤ教のおきてを禁じたりしました。 そこで、ユダヤ人は反乱を起こします。強力なギリシア軍に勝利した彼らは、紀元前165年、エルサレム神殿を奪回し、解放しました。 ギリシア軍はエルサルム神殿を占拠していた時、神殿の燭台を点す油の壷を全て汚しました。しかし神殿解放の日、汚れていない油壼が1つ見つかります。油は1日分にも満たなかったものの、火をつけてみるとなんと8日間も燃え続けました。ハヌカは、この奇跡を記念した祭日です。 ハヌカは別名、「光の祭り」とも呼ばれます。 ハヌカには特別な燭台を用います。8枝（台）ともう1つのろうそくをつける台がついていて、9本の台がある燭台です。これはハヌキヤと呼ばれます。 ろうそくは、1日ごとに1本ずつ増やして点火していき、8日目に全部が灯されるようにします。点火用のろうそくは、「シャマシュ」という呼び名がついています。 （出典：[ユダヤ教ーユダヤのお祭り｜ミルトス](http://myrtos.co.jp/info/judaism03.php#Q9)） ### どんなことをするの？ [HelloTalk](https://brc.hellotalk.com/htnewblogjp)のユダヤ人スタッフ、MishaとViktoriiaにハヌカの思い出を聞いてみました。 -- **Kaoru （以下、K）:** （バーガーショップにて）今日は二人に、ハヌカについて聞いてみたくて。ハヌカって言ったら、二人は何を思い出す？ **Viktoriia（以下、V）:** ドーナツかな。 **K:** なんでドーナツ？ **V: ハヌカの起源で、１日分の油でろうそくが８日間も燃え続けたっていう話があったでしょ。ハヌカにおいて油は歴史的に大事な要素なの。それで、ハヌカでは油を使った料理を食べるの。ちなみにヘブライ語では、ドーナツは「sufganiya（スフガニア）」って言うよ。** **K:** そうなんだ！アメリカでホームステイをしていた時、ホストファミリーがユダヤ系だったから一緒にハヌカをお祝いしたけど、ドーナツを食べた記憶は全然ないなあ。ずっと前のことだから覚えてないだけかな（笑） **Misha（以下、M）:** 一口にユダヤ教徒と言っても、祖先が元々どこの人かによって、習慣は異なるからね。 **V: **イスラエルでは、どこのお店でもハヌカの１週間前からドーナツを売り始めるよ。それで、みんな一気に５、６個買って毎日食べるから、ハヌカ初日にはもう食べ飽きちゃう。 **M: **味の種類もたくさんあって、金箔入りのドーナツまで売ってるよ。 **K:** えー、金箔入りまで！ **K: **Mishaは、ハヌカといえば何？ **M:** 子供の頃は、お金をもらえるのを楽しみにしていたよ。 **K: **あー、日本のお年玉みたいな感じかな。Mishaたちの家では、ハヌキアのろうそくに火をつける以外にハヌカでは何をするの？ **M:** お祈りをするよ。 **K: **ヘブライ語で？ **M:** うん。**[こういう内容](https://www.chabad.org/holidays/chanukah/article_cdo/aid/103874/jewish/Blessings-on-the-Menorah.htm)**だよ。 **V: **ドレイデル遊びもするよね。 **M:** そうそう。 **K:** 何それ？ **M:** 駒のことだよ。4つの面にヘブライ語の文字が書いてあるんだけど、それぞれ「נ-נס ג-גדול ה-היה ש-שם （A big miracle happened there. 大きな奇跡がそこで起こった。）」の頭文字になってる。ハヌカは歴史的な行事で、ドレイデルを通して親が子どもにそのストーリーを語り継いでいくよ。 **K:** へー、そうなんだ！ **V: **これはハヌカシーズンのエルサレムの写真。昼間には子ども向けのハヌカイベントが開催されることもあるよ。 **K: **すっかりハヌカモードだね。アメリカで祝うハヌカとイスラエルで祝うハヌカ、結構違うんだろうな。いつか、ハヌカシーズンにイスラエルに行ってみたい！ **M&V: **いつでも遊びにおいで！ -- インタビュー中でもお話した通り、筆者はアメリカ滞在中にハヌカを体験しました。「みんながみんな、クリスマスを祝うわけではない。各個人・家庭での伝統、習慣がある。」これは一番の学びでした。 "Happy Holidays" –– シンプルな表現ですが、このフレーズなら、どの人に対しても使うことができます。HelloTalkのお友達との会話やモーメントで、是非使ってみてください。 *Interviewed and written by Kaoru Nakano* --- ## Language Exchange Partners -
