Festival - Part 2: The Shootout

This is the second part of my series on the mountain festival I attended recently. Apart from the races there are many other events. A highlight every year are the reinactments.

There is a group that participates in period (Old West) attire and stages shootouts.

The first four photos are of a performance and demonstration. They use blank cartridges in their weapons, but it is still plenty loud and smoky. They staged a store robbery and did a little skit. There was also a demonstration of shooting a hole in a water bottle to show people that blanks are still dangerous if you stand too close (third photo).

Then there was a big shootout on the street. I could not capture that much of it, it went down so fast! I hope at least a little of the atmosphere comes across. If it weren't for the spectators and cars you'd think it still the 1800s. 😎
