We visited an Amish village in Lancaster County…around 40,00

0 Amish live there. Amish people are religious community
who don’t use modern technologies.
They live very simply and wear plain
clothes. The traditional mode of transportation for the Amish is horse and buggy. Apple dumplings are the best in Lancaster County. 😋
There is a movie titled “Witness” starring Harrison Ford. It’s about an Amish boy who witnesses a murder in Philadelphia. The movie depicts some Amish lifestyle. It’s a great movie.✨

BTW, when we were at the Amish activity farm, I saw a pig that reminded me of Wilbur from “Charlotte’s Web.” 💕😄

@Beth We just drove around the area and visited farms. We ate at two different homes and bought quilts from another. We also stayed on a dairy farm one night (not Amish). Later I read a lot about them. They have some interesting customs.

@mimi We were visiting a friend who lives in Lancaster County but he isn’t Amish. While visiting we drove around the area. We did one Amish farm tour. I wanted to do a buggy ride, but we didn’t have time. There are also bus tours. I don’t think Lancaster County is a big travel destination, but surprisingly I saw several Asians at the Amish farm tour. 👍😃
