(Meaning

- Shut the door behind you/why have you left the door open)
“Up the wooden hill” (Meaning - up stairs)
“Don’t tell you’re mother how to suck eggs” (Meaning - don’t tell me what I don’t need to know/what I already know)
“Turn the big light off” (Meaning - Turn off the main light)
“You drive me around the bend” (Meaning - You make me feel crazy!)
“Around the wrekin...” (Meaning - The long way around)

    @Ekaterina Sure! So “The Wrekin” is actually a hill located in Yorkshire. It takes a while to get around and so locals developed slang for it takes too long. So if someone is telling a really long story, we say, “Here we go, she’s/he’s taking us around the Wrekin”.

    @Mary you can use this to say you are young to bed. Parents say this a lot when referring to their children going to bed. They would say, “Come on, up the wooden hill...”.
