Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep

.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

@David B. So when you awaken means wake up natually?
  • Miranda

I love this poem, i read it first time from Desperate Housewives ~

@Alicia 曾艳 “when you awake” is not correct. “When you are awakened” is correct but has the meaning that something woke you up rather than waking up naturally.

@David When speaking more quickly I would soften it to a D sound

@David B. Do you always pronounce the word autumn with a hard T or can you also pronounce it with a soft D?...

This is good to listen and learn in the morning's hush. While I wonder, it will be grammatically correct if it is "when you awake or when you are awakened…" instead of "when you awaken…"

I know the reason why I like English is that it sounds really beautiful. The main thing is that you have a good voice
