A casual English expression that is simple, but has a more serious

meaning.

“Go out”

Meaning, dating.
Romantic interest.

You are in a restaurant with your friend.
You ask him:

“Can we go out?”

This can have two meanings.

One meaning is leave the restaurant.
Other meaning is romantic interest, want to go dating.

“Go outside” is more clear.
If there is no romantic intention, can say “go outside” to be safe.

“Will you go out with me?”
“Do you want to go out with me?”

“Go outside” means leave a place.
“Go out” is short form for “go out on a date”.

Be careful which meaning you are saying or hearing!

A girl told me she wouldn’t go out with me.
My cat also won’t go outside with me.

It’s a me day!

Thanks for reading.

@Tahee20 safer to say “go outside”! Can also say: “Let’s leave” or “Let’s get out of here”

@Jack Always great to hear your speaking practice Jack! Thanks for sharing it. You speak very clearly, pronouncing each word carefully. I can hear all your words! Your “F” sound can be more clear though. Try biting your bottom lip, with your upper teeth pulling your bottom lip, and blow air. Your “A” sound can sound more native too if you open your throat more. Like you are saying “hey”. Thanks for practicing together Jack! Great to hear your English! 加油!
