Today I visited a 1000 year old Abbey. It was mostly destroyed

by Henry VIII 500 years ago, but what remains is impressive. I purchased a bottle of mead from there. Mead is a wine that is made from honey, and was drank in ancient times. I have read about it before, but this is the first time I have ever drank it. It tastes like nothing else I have ever tried..... and is extremely potent.

    @Kuma It tastes like what it is.....Alcoholic honey. It also gives your mouth and lips the same feeling you get when you eat honey. It's very sweet, and difficult to drink on its own. I would recommend with meat or fish.

    The wine looks nice golden color like a noble rot wine, does it taste sweet as well?
