American slang. Have you noticed after speaking to some nativeEnglish speakers that we tend to use words that mean something else? Then you stop them and ask them to clarify what they mean?
For me, my language changes depends on who I speak with. In a professional setting I turn on my academic language. If I’m taking to close friends I tend to use more slang and common phrases often used in California. Every country has their own unique slang.
What’s a slang in your country you use quite often?
Since I’m from Northern California, we use the word Hella a lot. Hella just means very.
For example, “that guy looks hella fine”
Translation: that guy looks very good 😌
