I hate when people tell me it’s unnecessary to learn a language

as a native English speaker.... 😑

    it is not essential that people from countries that do not speak English know English, even though it is a business language most people do not have contact with people who speak English, as it is not a predominant language, Brazil is not possible for example even in cities tourists like rio de janeiro and são paulo only to speak english, people will be kind and will do their best to understand you but the priority and we hope you speak portuguese.I understand that this is not the topic you are talking about, but if the person is interested in English or another language, I think they have to dedicate themselves until they have a command of the language, but that only comes with living with the language .

    @Mark 마크 マーク and who would thought going to not native english language countries would be hard to have a good communication with most people of that country, English is one of the most known language in the world rather u have business, work, studying, or just visiting any place if u can't speak there native language then English is the language u need

    @askme to some extent yes, but not everyone knows English and is willing to learn it. If I travel to an non English speaking country, I cant expect everyone to speak English well
