Storytime: Yesterday was the funeral of my school friend who

tragically and prematurely passed away last week. It started with a prayer service at the mosque which was filled with people from all throughout his life.

Though his life was short, he lived it fully. He was the most successful person from our school. He had a wife and friends that loved him, he looked after his family, and did work that he wanted to do. When I think this way I can see that he actually achieved more in 26 years than many people do in their longer lives.

Everyone will remember him for being a person who started with nothing and had big dreams and achieved them. He will be remembered as a gentle, intelligent, humorous and helpful soul.

I was also reunited yesterday with school friends I haven't seen in ten years. We remarked on how quickly time passes and were regretful at having grown distant. If you have someone you miss then reach out to them and don't wait.

Never forget the people in your heart.
