The けど is a really strange thing to explain, although it means "but", the Japanese tend to use it to soften a sentence. You can do it in English too I guess by saying "I have no money, so.." without continuing. You'd use it in a reply to someone maybe asking you to buy something for you ❤️ it's a softer way of just saying "I have no money!" as it sounds a bit abrupt. けど does a similar thing in that case 🧸🐾 I hope it makes sense ✨
