Every place has a food that seems odd, different, or crazy to

those from outside of area. What is a popular dish in your community that may seem different to outsiders?

There is a resturaunt near here that makes milkshakes but they are not normal. Here are a couple ones they have! As you can see they are tons of sugar and super sweet.

    A dish called "a snake" (can't add a picture). In a nutshell the dish consists of only 2 ingredients: mayonnaise and 2 grains. Mayonnaise is squeezed out of tube onto a plate in the form of a crawling snake and grains are put into the snake's head to be its eyes. This dish is very popular with Russian poor students who often starving due to having few money.😂

    @Saeid I have had something very similar to this before but the person had added noodles to it. Savory desserts are actually pretty neat to see and taste!

    This kind of things a eat in Beijing. 🤔 extra sweet. Estra cold. Estra big. That what l am imaging when l am thinking about US🤔. And every resturant have a water with ice😁

    @David You are right in imagining this representing the US. For some reason everything has to be "overdone" here sadly.

    @elinora it was good but I could only take about 2 bites out of the ice cream because it was so sweet! They put cake frosting into it as well as whip cream and cotton candy.

    Kefir or sour milk. It is very popular in Russia, but for many foreigners it is a strange product.

    @elinora Exactly 😂 I highly suggest anyone to share with a person if they went there. I did not have someone to share with so most was thrown away.

    @Galina this is a bit funny to me because here people do not like sour milk but eat yogurt, sour cream, and use buttermilk!

    Definitely Kwas - something like between nonalcoholic beer und Cola. Many foreigners love it but the idea of making cold soup with that product is surprising to them. It is called okroshka.
