🇯🇵Japanese funny expression🇯🇵

I recently love to listen to this

podcast. I pick a funny topic up from it.

Can you guess what's "遠慮の塊(えんりょのかたまり)"?

It literally means "a lump(塊) of hesitaion(遠慮)", but
it actually means "a piece of food is left on a plate". In other words, no one don't eat the last one because everyone hesitate to eat it. That's so Japanese, isn't it😂 We make mutual concessions too much! It happens frequently in Japan! hahaha〜!🤣

この言い回しはシンガポールでもあるよ😂 We call this the "paiseh piece" in Singlish 🚫🥢 Paiseh【パイセー】→ 遠慮 From Minnan/Hokkien dialect "歹勢", meaning "embarrassed". And "piece" from English → 塊
