My English tip today is on the phrase “that

hit the spot” this phrase means something was really good -that’s just what I really needed.

For example:
Sarah: Hey Ben did you try the cake?
Ben: Yes I did! It really hit the spot!

In this example Ben is saying that the cake was really good and just what he needed!

Keep in mind this phrase is probably most often used when talking about food or drink, but can also be used for other things as well.

Like.. I took a nap that really hit the spot today because I was so tired.
