In Germany, many houses (and apartments) have balconies. This

still feels fancy to me because where I’m from in the US, I never see balconies on houses 😳 夏に、私はアイスコーヒーとバルコニーに座るのが好きです😌
Is it common in Japan?

    私の家にもバルコニーがありますが、夏は蚊がいるので、あまり快適ではありません。

    There used to houses that have a garden and along it, there was a Japanese style balcony, called 縁側 (えんがわ). My parent’s house or my grandparents’s house had that, but recently we don’t see a lot in newer houses mostly because, during summer time, we prefer to use air conditioning. https://yadokari.net/engawa/10449/
