(으)ㄴ 채로 is often used to build
a sentence where an object is in a specific state and the subject is performing an action. Therefore, it is the state of two things simultaneously happening at once. Ex:
My friend is running with glasses on. Then I can say this.
내 친구는 안경을 쓴 채로 달리고 있다.
My friend is running with glasses on.
You saw Bam sleeping with his eyes open. Then you can say something like this.
나는 Bam이 눈을 뜬 채로 자고 있는 것을 보았다.
I saw Bam sleeping with his eyes open.
창문을 열어둔 채로 밖을 나갔다.
I went out with the window open.
밤은 서있는 채로 노래를 불렀다.
Bam sang a song while standing.
*로 can be omitted.
Ex: 서있는 채 노래를 불렀다..
*it’s often used with –아/어 놓다 = 아/어 놓은 채로 or 아/어 두다 = 아/어 둔 채로.
Ex: Bam은 창문을 닫아 놓은 채로 노래를 불렀다.
Bam sang with the window closed.
Bam은 뇌를 집에 두고 온 채로 공부를 했다.
Bam studied with his brain left at home.
