I saw an interesting article recently that said that we should

not use creativity when learning a language. We should not learn the grammar rules and try to create the language ourselves. We need to have a lot of exposure to the language and learn the way that native speakers use the language. For any situation there is a limited number of phrases that native speakers would use. There are many others that may be grammatically correct but sound strange. Therefore it is important that we do a lot of listening and reading of content made by native speakers for native speakers to get a true feel for the language the way it is actually spoken.

The article is telling a real truth. That's exactly how I feel. What I really need is to learn the way that native speakers use the language rather than to create a sentence by picking a few words then applying grammar rules to them.

@灵子 I think it is important to understand grammar for your appropriate level, but our output (speaking and writing) should be based on the way that native speakers use the language, not from us simply trying to combine vocabulary words and grammar rules.

Yeah,at the beginning of learning a language. But we definitely need to learn grammar in the middle and super stage. What do you think?
