つぎのりょこうのじゅんびはできています。 - I am ready for the next trip. 😂🚗🏕

I completed

my road trip with my daughter. We experienced a lot. We drove through a frosty landscape, visited three national parks, climbed rocks, hiked to many view points, felt the desert heat, cooled off in frigid meltwater, viewed a historic railroad station, camped out for one night, got soaked in a heavy thunderstorm, swam in a hot springs pool, watched beautiful sunsets, hiked up tall sand dunes and enjoyed the warm waters in the creek flowing through the sand. We drove some 1100 miles (1770 km) and we only left the state for one day.  All that in six days...

A last minute change in the itinerary was necessary because of a terrible weather forecast. Thankfully, everything worked out fine and we had nice weather for the bulk of the time. Even after experiencing the evening thunderstorm while camping, things dried out the next morning.

I have over 1000 photos to go through. Here, I will share a few from the entire trip and then I will post more later as time allows.

@rimi Actually, no. It will be another 2 years until she is allowed to drive and honestly, that thought terrifies me. I don't mind driving long distances as long as the scenery is interesting. 😃

@Naoko yes, the high peaks have some snow cover year-round and some high country trails won't be snow free until July. The temperature up on the pass where I took the first two photos was just 3 degrees at 10:30am.

@Jake Oh, your daughter is still young 🧒. My son has a driving license but I don’t want him to drive. Just the thought of it makes me nervous.
