Summer heat got you down lately? Can I cool you off with some alpine images perhaps? ❄
Here's my recount of Saturday's hike in the high country. I went to a mountain pass and hiked up to the ridge from there. The length of the trail was just 9km, but the high altitude with the high point at 3812 meters and elevation gain 474 meters still made it quite a workout. The views were absolutely first class on this hike, with the wildflowers still blooming and mountain peaks all around with good visibility.
This trail is known for high winds, but I caught a perfect day, with warm temperatures and little wind. There are still quite a few snowfields, but no snow on the trail. I was able to take decent shots of marmots, a pika and a chimunk (the latter two I could not include here).
I went absolutely crazy with photos and I just could not pick less than 74 of them for the gallery, so if you are interested in more than the selection here, check out https://isagriz.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Berthoud-Pass-Trail/
Have a good week!
