@Madden The problem with that is the staff in Japanese restaurants is almost always Chinese. Even in America lol. Next time I go home, I’ll do a prank in a Japanese restaurant and ask why they don’t speak Japanese lol

This is brilliant. I lived in China for 4 years and it was a always a breath of fresh air speaking Chinese there and seeing their expectations shattered. It’s even more of a scene when a Japanese person finds out that you can speak and understand Japanese 😂 especially if they are gossiping

Awesome! I surprised some Chinese and Koreans by speaking their languages to them when I was in Japan recently—even though I’m only a beginner in Chinese and Korean. They still didn’t expect me to be able to say anything in Chinese or Korean, so it was great.
