    @FeiNiao totally! I think that because characters have so much structure and meaning to them, Chinese learners sometimes forget the Chinese language is not as strict as we would like it to be

    Many Chinese words you was been confused, most of the time you ignore the words context or the words is abbreviations. Such as “早点”，if the word‘s meaning is breakfast, it is the abbreviation of “早上的点心”，if the word’s meaning is hurry up, it is the abbreviation of “早一点”。 Just like the English word ‘ABC’, it is “American Broadcasting Company”, it also is “American Born Chinese”. What is the truth meaning? Depending on the word’s context.
