Today I have a little shoot to show you from an August evening about a month ago. It was a stormy afternoon, but I could see some blue sky in the evening, so I decided to go out, get a little exercise and see if I can get some good sunset shots.

I was not disappointed with what I saw. The mountains were shrouded in clouds, but the cover was clearing revealing the mountain tops. The sun was breaking through and was throwing pretty rays onto the cloud layers. I took the first pictures from a high point in my car, but then I moved onto the trail and reached a nice observation point. I witnessed a truly magnificent sunset with beautiful soft light, vapor over the forests and a dramatic cloudscape.

Simple pleasures, but moments like these are a feast for the eyes and make me forget the troubles of the day and let me appreciate the gift of nature and the little wonders of our world.
