@ジョー Thank you for correcting. I always confused between "is" and "has(have)"😓

@Rie 理絵 No problem! You could have also said “has been” but you need to the “been” to show it is an action still in progress. So either “is” or “has been” would work, but “has” by itself can’t. I hope this makes sense! If you have any questions, please ask!

Thank you ジョさん😃 I need the time to understand your message😅 You say that you can say "My datebook cover has been old." too, right? or.,."My datebook cover has been getting old."?? I'm confused yet💦 Automatic translation doesn't work in the cases like this😭

@Rie 理絵 No problem, I’m happy to explain more if you are still a bit confused! I guess “has been getting old” and “has been old” both work for the point you are trying to make, but the word “getting” lets the person know the process of “becoming old” is still happening. This is fairly advanced English though, and it’s a bit hard to explain on the phone, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Saying “my notebook is getting old” means the same thing as the other two sentences, so I would just stick with that! Sorry if confused you more 😅

I think so too. it's hard to explain. But I feel I'm starting to get it! I will practice to make sentences as that. Thank you very much. I had a good teacher😊
