HelloTinder...

It's a term that you may or may not have seen

being used to describe the rule-breaking flirting and dating culture sometimes found within the app, but I'm curious as to what you guys think about it?

It's always been my personal opinion that, as much as the app definitely SHOULD NOT be used for the sole purpose of dating, if two people find each other, start as friends, but then develop a mutual attraction for one another then that's surely OK and I support those two individuals that have found something special in a potentially unlikely place. Would YOU still consider that to be a breach of the rules if you heard a story like this one? Do you think that all types of flirting in the app is bad even if it's mutual or do you just dislike those that try to do it without first respecting your boundaries?

I'd like to explore this concept in more detail and find out about it from you guys for when I potentially make a video dedicated to the experiences with this type of user found within the app.

Leave a comment here to let me know your opinion! Thanks ✨ ♥

たしかに出会いの目的が多いように思います。 私は自分の国以外の人の文化をしり、日本の魅力を知って貰いたくこのアプリを使ってます。 用途は人それぞれ違いますね I think that the purpose of meeting is certainly many. I use this app to know the culture of people other than my own country and to know the charm of Japan. Different people have different uses.

I consider could be something serious from that app , some cases or most of them it’s just for fun , but could happen that you meet someone you like a lot and both of you falling in love .. , I think is possible , and hard aswell

That's a really interesting though, but if two people have reached that level of confidence wouldn't it be better (and safer) to use and actual social media account?

Finding something in common has the ability to bring people together. Language learning just happens to be a common factor for most of us here, so it isn't that unusual for a few people to feel a mutual attraction after striking up a conversation. In those cases, I am fully behind people flirting on this app, as it might be a shortcut to becoming proficient in their TL. However, there are always some bad apples out there, and those should be reported as frequently as possible. I have a personal set of "red flags" that I tend to look out for when reading comments from people who only have dating in mind. Dating-only red flags: - "Text me" (usually means they've reached their daily limit of starting 10 new conversations) - Unrelated greetings/compliments (i.e. "Let's be friends" on a post asking for a translation) - No indication of learning their TL in their bio/moments Just my 🐛🐛

Well, there's not much to say about this matter. Humans are not machines, it's cool to have a set of rules and a goal for being in this app which is language exchanging, but feelings can arise. However, if you happen to get along with someone and you think it'd be someone compatible with you for dating, before start flirting you have to put some facts in consideration: - how likely actually is for you to meet each other? I've met tens of people here in the app but only 2 of them in real life, you have to be realistic - does it worth for you to sacrifice a potential long term language partner/good friend for something that might not go anywhere? - cultural differences are a fact, are you sure the other person is not just being kind? - Are you prepared to deal with the pain of cultural differences on international relationships? To start with something, someone would have to leave their family, friends and known world to start from scratch somewhere else.

So, if you happen to like someone, you both get along and trust enough each other, and you are aware about all these obstacles and probably many others I'm not seeing, go for it. I'm not gonna lie, I've been here in HT for 4 years (maybe a little more) and I've felt attracted to a few women, I've flirted with 2 of them and they allowed me to do it, but in the end it went anywhere. One of them came and we were dating for a month, it was amazing but she had a life done there so she returned home and I wasn't prepared to leave everything to go with her. International dating is not like hanging out and getting back home at the end of the day if something goes wrong

Definitly I think they use this app for know a lot of foreing girls but If the relationship occurs naturally, is acceptable. In some cases they only want to have some fun.

I wanna meet some native English speakers so that I could get my goals. I always respect a healthy conversation with people. If both boy and girl feel comfortable with each other they should go for it.
