I’ll be going to Hanoi in October, so could anyone suggest

what I should do/see/eat while I’m there?
I would like to avoid big tourist areas, I prefer authentic place to see the culture.
I was thinking about going to Ba Vi National Park. Is it nice there?

    Great to hear you like travelling,when you traveling,you must have much staff to carry luggage and your additionalbag, you need something to make your travel easier

    Ba Vi is a good place if u like hiking. the atmosphere in Ba Vi is so cool and clear. Some places i think should go if u come to HN: Hoan Kiem lake, West Lake... some good places near Ha Noi are Tam Dao, Ninh Bình :D

    Ba vi national park is a beautiful place but it is not a good place to see the culture. Suggestion above is enough for your trip. Btw, tomorrow i will go to Ba Vi and have a bbq party with them.

    Yep. Ba Vi National Park, I think that’s good idea, It’s a nice place. My suggest: Bat Trang pottery, Vietnam National Village Forethic cultural and tourism, Duong Lam ancient Village...

    If you want to explore the North's culture, I think you should visit some places in Hanoi where foreigners often come, some countrysides or tranditional craft villages. Ba Vi is not only well-known with National Park but also some places like Ao Vua, Suoi Tien...So Ba Vi is one of great choice

    You should go : Ta Hien beer street, Hoan Kiem Lake, Tran Quoc pagoda , Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam , Museum of Ethnography, Dinh coffee, Giang Coffee, Serein Cafe & Lounge to seeing Long Bien bridge....There are some cool bars in Tay Ho you can go there as well

    You should trying eat "nem lụi" and "bánh xèo". They are delicious food

    I don't live in Hà Nội. So, i haven't advised for you. But if you go to Đà Nẵng or Hội An . I can give some advise

    you can walk through Ho Guom lake every evening ( especially on weekend, there are interesting activies i can explore), eat Trang Tien ice cream, eat Bun Cha ( kind of noodle). Ba Vi park is ok, it's very cheap if you use bus to move :)
