Is there any differences between "cry" and "weep"?

Crying is about the sound you make. Weep is used when you can see tears.

My image is that weeping is quieter, but maybe deeper/longer?

@Sean Thank you! I understood crying is aurally, and weeping is visually.

@Jason Thank you😊 Now I interpret like this. Are these accurate? weep: tears + quiet, grief cry : tears + voice, outburst of emotion

In my opinion, ‘crying’ doesn’t always mean there is sound 🤔 ‘weeping’ is a type of crying, usually more sombre (like at a funeral etc)

@Metz Wow. Crying doesn't always have sound🤔🤔🤔 But I think I understand what's weeping like. Thank you a lot!

    Weep is more “dramatic”

@ドミ dramatic. It seems I could catch the image of "weep". Thank you ドミさん!

There is another meaning of "cry" that nobody here has mentioned. Example: "She cried out loud asking us to stop running". This sentence doesn't not mean crying with tears. The meaning here is similar to "shout", "scream" or "yell".
