Here in the capital of the United States (Washington DC) we have a very special event to honor the cherry blossom trees given to us! We have a giant parade through the streets with many performances and floats all day (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ A PARADE! I think the Tidal Basin is the BEST place to see the cherry blossoms since it's right next to a body a water. They even have paddle boats and cruise tours that you can take to ride on the water 🌸⛴️ After the parade, we have a Sakura Matsuri (さくらまつり) that has street vendors and authentic Japanese street food! They also host many performer and bands on the stage during the day. Sometimes they have rock bands, idol, groups, or even taiko drummers╰(*´︶`*)╯ I've been going to the parade and festival for 5 years now...and I plan on continuing! I'm so tired of it being cold here (´･ᴗ･ ` ) That means it's almost time for the さくらまつり！ Since it's still chilly out the cherry blossoms haven't bloomed fully, but they will be at peak bloom this weekend! We haven't had our official cherry blossom parade or street festival yet! These stairs were made famous for being in the 1973 classic hit horror movie, The Exorcist! This is where Father Damien Karras fell down the stairs and died in the movie. Our mayor even recognized the stairs as an important part of our Washingtonian history! I would go to the convenience store and take the entire row of chips (selfish I know 😩) They are a light and crispy snack with a slight sweet taste ☺️ not too salty, not too sweet! I ate an entire box of 16 bags on my own... Goto Masafumi (後藤 正文) is the lead singer for my favorite band Asian Kung-fu Generation! It's about this American guy named Mikey from Ohio becoming a famous actor in Japan for a TV show. As you can see he's drawn in a different style than his coworkers in Japan 😂😂 throughout the show Mikey will mention that he can't become a "chibi" or get larger when he's angry like most exaggerated anime scenes or emotions. I think the show also has very minimal, but silly Japanese phrases and culture in it as well.
