I can't smile when I take photos and every time I take it I look serious. Serious more than I'm in real life and it makes me confused. Several days ago I travelled to Petersburg where I met a Chinese pal and she told me that my photos don't present my temper cuz I'm much more cheerful than I look on photos. Honestly I don't want to post my own photos at all I feel weird when I do it. I came to St. Petersburg for a month and rented a very inexpensive room. The landlady is a woman without a husband. However, she has a 22-year-old son who, it seems to me, pays absolutely no attention to the state of the apartment. For starters, I noticed that the electrical sockets in the room are very loose in their wall cavities and the contacts themselves are really bad. I don't know why it's like this, especially since the landlady said she actually has new sockets, but they're just sitting there unused. I don't understand what the problem is with going to a hardware store, getting some plaster, installing new back boxes, and putting in the new sockets? Also, I noticed that the bathroom door squeaks badly. I found an old syringe, filled it with some used motor oil, and fixed the squeak in just a few seconds. The water in the bathtub wasn't draining properly because the drain was completely clogged with hair. I cleared it out, and it's much better now. Honestly, I've always considered myself someone who doesn't spend enough time on household upkeep, but what I've seen here really shocked me. I still believe that a man, just like a woman, should help maintain a cozy and orderly home. A man should fix, repair, and improve living conditions as best he can. Isn't that how it should be? That's not true. Today I walked several kilometers on feet during the hot weather. When I have arrived home I couldn't even cook instant noodles. I could just lie down on a bed with a headache and think hardly. After some time I finally cooked the noodles and it made me full. But I still can't fall asleep. Here in the Hellotalk I met a lot of nice Chinese who gave me good impression about them. But in XiaoHongShu it doesn't matter what I post or comment there will be a person who writes something unpleasant then add me to a blacklist that made impossible to answer something to them. It happens regardless age or gender. It makes such people vulnerable to be exploited by information they can't or don't want to check. The information can be used to cheat and fraud such people. Especially if we're talking about generation that don't use it internet. The people relay on one side TV-based information or information they get from circle of their environment which might not be enough to create a view that match to reality. The people don't tolerate any criticism because they consider their age or life experience as a key to understand different aspects of life. That's for me why it's so hard to argue with older generation and find solutions together.
