While many people complain about the app, I think there is a lot of good here too. What started as a simple language learning app has now evolved into a kind of global social space. You can connect with people from the other side of the world, hear about their lives, and learn things you would never get from regular social media where you mostly just talk to people you already know. Hearing about places and cultures straight from the people living there feels real, not like something from a textbook.Personally, I also really like the doodle option and the Moments section on this app..they are fun to use. There are all kinds of people here. Some are super serious about language learning, and others just want a friendly chat or some company. Personally, it’s much easier to start a conversation online than in real life, and even casual chats help improve language skills, vocabulary, and overall communication. It’s not just about learning a language..it’s about connecting. I know some people complain that HelloTalk is turning into a dating app or that there are scams. But honestly, you can turn off chats from strangers if it bothers you, and blocking or reporting someone is just a tap away. About voice rooms..yeah, sometimes hosts remove people, but it’s their room, their rules. If you don’t like it, there are plenty of other rooms to join. And as for fake flags or fake identities… If something feels off, ignore it or report and definitely don’t click on any suspicious links. The moment we met, he just started talking and never hit pause. Honestly, it felt like he’d known me forever. He was chatting with literally everyone on the street like he was the mayor of the area. He even introduced me to people as his friend. Bro, I didn’t even know his name. Anyway, we’re about to head back, and out of nowhere he goes, 'Can you give me some money? I need to pay my EMI.' Like… what? You just met me three hours ago. Then came the classic line: 'Don’t worry, I’ll return it after I get my salary.' And yeah… I actually gave it. I still don’t know how to ask for it back...anyway Then came the final twist.. , 'Maybe I’ll come to your place next weekend ..Let’s have some good time.' Met him 3 hours ago. Now I’m his 'friend', his EMI backup, and apparently his weekend plan.
