Perhaps the answer is: as many times as it takes for him to awaken. Rejection is bitter — it cuts, it wounds, and it seems to prove we are not worthy. But over time, through pain, it reveals something else: that no matter how many people deny us, we are still the ones writing the lines of our own lives. The sadness of rejection is real, and there is no merit in denying it. No amount of poetry can erase the weight of offering your heart and being turned away. There’s no way to change the fact that rejection is a part of life. But we can change how we respond to it.
